These wrap my feet in support, allowing the toes to wiggle and breathe but keeping the arch supported WITHOUT causing the foot to roll outward as a result. The heel is a bit loose as almost all shoes are for me, but not so much as to present a problem. Negative points - a nick on the toe the first evening tore the finish and I need to wear these to work so I don't appreciate the bright white brand advertising on the tongue. I very well may get these in white as winter moves into spring.

great comfort weak heel, December 22, 2009

I found that this shoe was very comfortable with plenty of room for my orthotic insole. The only developing issue was that the heel material began wearing a hole within a few months and didn't have much padding there, so, unless you buy heel guards in the beginning your heels will be rubbing against the hard material! I tried the heel guards after the tear was noticed and the stick-on heel guard would not stick. This happened on both aetrex shoes - different styles!
