Yes, it's an athletic shoe, but it has Orthofeet's unique Tie-Less lacing system that has an adjustable strap connecting the laces to the shoe, so you can have uniform and easy fastening. Mesh upper and breathable, protective lining will keep your feet feeling cool. This women's athletic shoe has a wide opening and 3/8" extra depth to ensure it’s easy to put the shoes on and off. Foam padding on the tongue and collar will cushion your feet as you walk in confidence and comfort. The Orthofeet 910 Athletic Shoe also has an EVA midsole and rubber outsole to resist erosion. Construction is on an anatomically-correct last to reduce pain to your feet and joints. Available in a wide range of sizes and four different widths, this women’s athletic shoe is made for hard-to-fit feet. This shoe has two removable insoles and is A5500 coded as a Diabetic Shoe. I've worn a pair of the Adjustable Strap and Lace Athletic Shoes for almost a year with orthotic inserts. They are very comfortable and nice looking. I wanted them for wearing to the fitness center and just walking in general. The only problem I've had has been from attempting to wear them before all the swelling was gone following
foot surgery for hammertoes and bunions.

Its always difficult to find shoes deep enough and wide enough for my feet, orthodics, and bunions. These shoes fit the bil. I didn't really want the velco fasteners, but they are unobtrusive and can be easily bypassed. I love these shoes and wear them every day. I'm getting ready to buy my second pair to take with me on my vacation.
