The Spira Genesis X Women's Running Shoe provides exceptional cushioning and shock absorption because it's made with WaveSpring® technology: a design made of a durable, metal alloy WaveSpring® that is active and stable. This WaveSpring® will not break down over time, which means that the same cushioning that was felt on the first mile will be felt after 500 miles of use - something that other women's athletic shoes can't offer since most of their designs only use EVA material. The women's Genesis X has WaveSpring® technology in the heel and forefoot areas - wearers will gain energy return and shock absorption throughout the gait cycle. The upper is made with breathable materials: air mesh with synthetic leather overlays; and the footbed is removable and can be replace with custom orthotics or arch supports. Besides the WaveSprings, the midsole is made with compression molded EVA and includes a high density medial post for extra stability; the outsole is constructed with a high abrasion rubber strike pad and 4 rubber pods for flexibility.
