Spira Odyssey Women's Running Shoes: New Cushioning Technology for Energy Return

The Spira Odyssey Women's Running Shoe provides a level of cushioning that is second to none. This women's athletic shoe incorporates WaveSpring® technology at the forefoot and heel area to minimize shock absorption and gain energy return during the gait cycle. WaveSpring® technology consists of a metal alloy WaveSpring® that is durable, stable and active. The WaveSpring® is designed to not bottom out or breakdown overtime, something that typically happens with other shoes that just have EVA or foam material under the foot - wearers will feel the same cushioning when they reach the 500-mile mark as they did on their first mile wearing the Spira Odyssey. Wearers will also feel less stress on joints, ligaments and tendons because the WaveSpring® design reduces peak impact forces by up to 20%. Besides its WaveSpring® technology, the Odyssey comes with a sporty-looking mesh upper that is breathable to keep feet dry and fresh. The high grade EVA midsole and high abrasion rubber outsole offer extra cushioning and flexibility. The 5mm molded EVA footbed is removable to accommodate custom orthotics or arch supports. The Spira Odyssey Women's Running Shoe will provide the necessary protection against impact shock and the exceptional cushioning needed for smooth comfortable steps.

The Spira Odyssey Women's Shoe has these features:

• Breathable air mesh at the top vamp; non-stretch support mesh at the bottom vamp
• WaveSpring® Technology:
• New cushioning design that consist of a durable, metal alloy WaveSpring®, which according to testing done in 2001 by Michigan State University, produces 87% - 96% of energy return
• WaveSpring® will not breakdown over time - even though the surrounding EVA of the shoe will breakdown, the WaveSpring® will not, which means you'll experience the same cushioning you did on day one
• Significantly lowers high impact; wearers will experience less stress on joints, ligaments, and tendons
• WaveSprings are tested for up to a million cycles - equals to about 1,000 miles of running or walking
• Midsole has a tri-spring application; a large single WaveSpring® in the heel and a dual WaveSpring® design in the forefoot - both are surrounded by compression molded EVA
• Semi curved training last
• Strobel lasted construction
• 5mm molded EVA footbed is removable to accommodate arch support inserts or custom orthotics
• High abrasion rubber outsole is durable and has a 3-pod design in the forefoot with flex grooves
