True width for the foot, but ankle is narrow

I typically buy men's boots because need a wide width. Bought these in 11 3E (extra wide). The foot/toe width was perfect, the ankle was way too narrow and coverage gapped. Though maybe my husband could wear, but they were too loose for him. He really liked the style though, so exchanged them for the D width and he loves them. So, if you don't have large ankles like me these should work perfect. In the future, I wish the ankle circumference would be include in the description.

Most comfortable boot in 36 years

My wife bought these for me. Usually my feet are the first part of my body that is painful, but after wearing these boots my feet don't hurt at all. Most comfortable boot I have ever owned.
