  • Orthotic friendly design - Extra depth design with removable orthotic insoles that are ¼" thick in the forefoot area provide ample space for custom made orthotics.
  • Easy gait - Light-weight cushioning sole with Ergonomic-Stride(TM) design softens step, and helps propel foot forward.
  • Protective Interior - Soft, seam-free lining design with extra foam padding eliminates pressure points, and helps reduce friction against skin.
  • Comfort fit - soft, non-binding upper eliminates pressure points and enhances comfort.
  • Adjustable fit - two sets of removable spacers (1/16" and 1/8" thick) allow the adjustment of the space inside the shoe for a perfect fit.

The Orthofeet Lava Men’s Athletic Shoe is exactly what I have been searching for: a high-quality, orthopaedically designed shoe, good-looking and stylish as well. I have 4eeee wide feet, with an additional complication re: my left foot from a very serious decades old injury, which nearly cost me my foot, and has since proven to be a life-changing injury. Supinating, maladjusted tendons and muscles in my left knee and foot have altered the motion and muscle dynamics, now after five decades of walking (and years back, running …). Finding shoes to enable me to cope with what has become a very difficult condition — and making continued walking and enjoying my life possible — has become a front-burner issue for me.
