The New Balance 1540V3 women's walking and running shoe was designed as an update to the 1540v3. The lightweight synthetic/mesh upper provides breathability to help control moisture buildup. The polyurethane insert not only provides another layer of stability, but also accommodates custom orthotics, arch support insoles, and diabetic insoles. This women's athletic shoe is well cushioned and comes with high-quality features: motion control is gained via ROLLBAR technology because of its medial/lateral TPU posts; the ACTEVA midsole is resistant to compression set and 24% lighter than normal foam; ENCAP midsole technology is extremely durable and supportive; and ABZORB midfoot cushioning provides shock absorption to soften steps. The outsole is made with flexible, blown rubber to help extend the lifespan of the shoe and add extra cushion. The New Balance 1540V3 women's walking and running shoe is a great selection for those looking to improve stability and control in their gait cycle. Plus, it's ideal for active diabetics because it's A5500 coded as a diabetic shoe.

Great Sneaker

I have worn New Balance sneakers for almost 30 years. I love their shoes and this model hasn't let me down. It is very well made, comfortable and sturdy enough to take me on my 2.5 mile walks. I will admit that it runs slightly big in the toe box, but that is where you need extra room anyway. At least I do.

Nice Looking and Very Comfortable

I've had these shoes for several months now, and they are still very supportive and comfortable. I keep only two pairs of shoes at a time, alternating the pairs daily. They do get washed as they need to be, and these are excellent shoes; no fraying, no bad laces, no wear to the arch support. i will buy more in the future.

The only comment I can say is excellent, but, they rubbed my ankles so I bought a heel insert (recommended). They were ok for the first day, then I had to wear an extra pair of socks, the same reason, rubbing my ankles. Now I couldn?t be happier.

Mostly good fit

The wide toe box, width, and overall support are great. They could use cushioning around the ankles, and the tongue is too short, so not much comfort in the ankle area. I was disappointed that the holes for the laces are just punch holes like any cheap pair of sneakers. I kept them because I was leaving for a vacation in which I?d be walking a lot, and my feet feel pretty good in them, even after two weeks of wear.

Love New Balance made in America shoes. This shoe is a true wide shoe and provides great support for a heavier walker / runner. The insole comes out so my orthotics can be easily put in. Great shoe!

Great Shoe

As always, New Balance delivers a great shoe. This is the only athletic shoe company that offers a consistent, well made product that comes in truly wide widths. The only problem that I've ever experienced with New Balance shoes is that the uppers, around the toebox, wear out and develop holes long before the tread is gone causing me to buy a new pair. Therefore I haven't worn this pair yet as I always keep a spare.
