Shoes can't be adjusted enough to fit

I wanted to like these shoes because they are a slide shoe and so easy to put on and take off. But they were too big across the top of my foot/instep and I found that I couldn't adjust them enough to fit. In order to get them adjusted for my feet the material under the laces was bunched up on top, and the elastic laces were too long. I don't have a narrow foot and I normally wear a 9 Medium. I have several other types of Propet Slides and they fit fine or could easily be adjusted to fit. I like the Propet shoes, but these just didn't work for me.
