Is the Apis 728E good for plantar fasciitis?
Yes — the Apis 728E is an excellent choice for plantar fasciitis. Its arch support, cushioned insole, and shock absorbing help reduce strain on the plantar fascia — the band of tissue along the bottom of your foot that causes heel and arch pain. The leather upper provides lasting comfort and durability.
What widths does the Apis 728E come in?
The Apis 728E is available in Medium (B/D), Extra Wide (2E/3E), 2X (4E), 4X (8E), 6X (12E). The extra-depth design and removable footbed give you room to swap in custom orthotics or accommodate swelling. This shoe is A5500 coded and may qualify for Medicare therapeutic shoe coverage.
Can the Apis 728E fit an AFO brace?
Yes. The Apis 728E is specifically designed to accommodate ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs). The extra-depth construction and wide opening provide enough room for the brace without compromising fit or comfort.

If The Shoe Fits; It Will Be Worn

My uncle has a hard to fit foot with multiple issues requiring a specialized shoe. I was impressed with the size chart and extra width that made a perfect fit for him. He wears his new Healthy Feet shoes daily. We are all happy.

5 stars! We have tried many a shoe for my 92 year old Dad’s edema feet, ankles and legs. These shoes give the base support with the stretch upper and a generous strap. Bravo.

Great for Wide Swollen Feet

I have circulation problems in both legs which causes ulcers to form around my ankles and my calves and feet to swell up. I have to wear four-layer dressings on both legs from below the knees. I need extra wide shoes which are hard to find. These shoes make it easy to wear without having to struggle to put them on. They are comfortable.

These shoes as well as all 3 Healthy Feet items I recently purchased upped my quality of life.

Until last month when I did a random google search for special shoes and found Healthy Feet, I had no idea that alternatives to $1300 custom shoes existed for me. I?m almost 74 with severe neuropathic club feet, and ineligible for Medicare assistance with shoes as my condition does not stem from diabetes as is inexplicably required. The Apis 728E as well as the Apis 801 have proved godsends to me. The 3 conditions of extra depth, small length and wide width along with the special stretch fabric provide all the customization I seem to need at nowhere near the cost of fully custom shoes made from plaster molds of my feet. It?s hard to believe that the existence of alternatives that Healthy Feet make available were not brought to my attention by the numerous podiatrists and other health professionals who have cared for me over the years. Well, thankfully its not too late to enjoy walking comfortably and confidently with such a well made shoe. Thanks.

Apis 728E

Very nice looking shoe. Just a little shorter than same size shoes ordered from Healthy Feet before. They are stretchable as described and that is helpful. Have added insert for just a little more support.

Foundation

Love the fact that my 87 year young father finally has a shoe that makes him feel so secure. His legs and feet are so wide due to lymphedema which leaves his legs and feet extremely swollen, he has commented now several times on how much better and more secure inside foundation has under him with his new shoes. I am thrilled, thank you so much!

Apis Stretchable Shoe

I have a terrible case of edema and it made it impossible to find a pair of shoes I could get on my feet. I couldn't go outside because I had no shoes. This pair of shoes is fairly comfortable, easy to put on and has allowed me to go outside again. I love them.

Good Shoe but Three concerns

1. The velcro strap is a little long.2. The selection for my size and width is extremely limited (size 12, width 14E)3. There is almost no tread on the sole of the shoes. Overall this seems to be a good shoe.
