Drew Lightning II V Athletic Walking Shoes for Men: Lightning does strike twice

The Drew Lightning II V Mens Athletic Walking Shoe combines therapeutic benefits with athletic comfort and style. Part of The Drew Athletic Collection, the Lightning II V offers double depth Plus Fitting System with two removable insoles and two adjustable Velcro straps. This shoe is HCPCS coded A5500 for a diabetic shoe. The leather/mesh upper is breathable and lined with soft fabric. The tongue and collar are both padded with foam for soft comfort. While you move, your active feet will stay cool and dry with Drilex insoles, which wick away moisture. Wide, synthetic fiber shank and firm heel counter increase balance and stability. The Lightning II V features an EVA midsole and durable rubber outsole with rocker bottom to propel you forward as you walk. This Drew shoe is also recommended for treating foot conditions such as a high arch, flat feet, Metatarsalgia (ball-of-foot paint), plantar fasciitis (heel pain), bunions, hammertoes, and arthritis. The Drew Lightning II V Mens Athletic Walking Shoe offers support and cushioning all around while keeping feet cool and dry in this Drew athletic shoe.

Is the Drew Lightning II V good for plantar fasciitis?
Yes — the Drew Lightning II V is an excellent choice for plantar fasciitis. Its arch support, cushioned insole, and shock absorbing help reduce strain on the plantar fascia — the band of tissue along the bottom of your foot that causes heel and arch pain. The leather upper provides lasting comfort and durability.
What widths does the Drew Lightning II V come in?
The Drew Lightning II V is available in Narrow (2A/B), Medium (B/D), Wide (D/E), Extra Wide (2E/3E), 2X (4E). The extra-depth design and removable footbed give you room to swap in custom orthotics or accommodate swelling. This shoe is A5500 coded and may qualify for Medicare therapeutic shoe coverage.
What does the rocker bottom sole do on the Drew Lightning II V?
The rocker bottom sole on the Drew Lightning II V promotes a smooth, rolling gait from heel strike to toe-off. This reduces pressure on the ball of the foot and forefoot joints, making it particularly helpful for metatarsalgia, Morton's neuroma, and arthritis.

Return process seamless

Ordering shoes in the wrong size was not an issue at all. I followed the steps for returns and was approved in a very short time. One pair was returned as the new pair of shoes was ordered. Thank you Healthy Feet Store!

Love the Fit.

One of the very small number of shoes that actually fit your foot right out of the gate. I have walked a few miles in them and they are very comfy and light.

Unusual needs.

My feet are like cubes. They are wide and also require deep shoes. These shoes are the only ones I have found that work. They are comfortable and look great !

Most comfortable shoe I have purchased in a long time

These shoes are the most comfortable shoe I have purchased in a long time. I love the arch support and the double insole. I leave both in but if you needed more box room you could remove one of them. Mine did come with a mark on the fabric and marks on the inner sole.

Perfect for His Needs

My husband wears an AFO--Ankle/Foot Orthotic--and finds it difficult to find shoes deep and wide enough to include this. When New Balance apparently discontinued the one he was wearing, we had to search for another one. After 2 tries with another reputable online shoe store, I was able to find this one. They fit perfectly. He mentioned the other day how much better he is walking with these new shoes, and the knee pain he thought was unrelated, has disappeared. (I was right! lol) Shipping was also prompt, which was much appreciated.

shoes fit my husband more like a 9 instead of the 9.5 ... the X wide (4E) not wide enough

The shoes looked great ... husband tried on and compared to the Propet Connelly Strap they are narrow and short ... I ordered the Drew and the Propet both size 9.5.... for those looking for what we needed ......the Drew X wide is (4E) and the Connelly X wide (3E) will not be the same ... the Connelly is wider , longer and the depth is greater in the ConnelleyMy husband said they felt comfortable on but again he need the extra wiggle room in his shoes nowhe is diabetic and has flat feet... he is also can be on his feet 12 to 15 hours a day.....will still recommend this shoe but if you need the xtra room get 1/2 larger and wider than you think you will need....note : trying to find the perfect shoe for Hubby... have tried 3 different brands so far.

Feel great

The shoes fit perfectly and feel great. My plantar fasciitis is almost gone. If these shoes were ugly, I would still wear them.

Stroke

Since my stroke 2 years ago, I have had great difficulty in finding a shoe that I could fit over my AFO orthotic boot. This shoe allows me to put on with one hand and with Velcro am able to get going in the morning & not wait for my wife to tie laces for me. Great stability and comfortable too.
