Frequently Asked Questions
What styles of women's wide toe box shoes do you carry?
We carry wide toe box options across every women's style, including walking shoes, sandals, Mary Janes, clogs, flats, dress shoes, and slippers. Brands like Orthofeet, Propet, and Dansko design shoes that look great while still giving your toes the room they need. You do not have to sacrifice style for comfort.
I have bunions. Will wide toe box shoes help with my pain?
Wide toe box shoes are one of the most effective non-surgical ways to manage bunion pain. The extra room takes pressure off the bunion joint so it is not constantly rubbing against the shoe. Look for shoes with soft, stretchable uppers and adjustable straps or velcro closures, which let you customize the fit around the bunion area without adding pressure.
What should women with diabetes look for in a wide toe box shoe?
Choose shoes with a seamless interior to prevent rubbing and skin irritation, since diabetic neuropathy can make it hard to feel developing blisters. Extra depth with a removable footbed lets you use diabetic orthotics. Many of our women's wide toe box shoes are A5500 coded, meaning they may be covered by Medicare with a prescription from your doctor.
Do you carry wide toe box shoes in narrow or extra wide widths for women?
Yes. Our women's wide toe box shoes come in widths ranging from Narrow (2A) through Extra Wide (2E) and beyond. Having a wide toe box does not mean the shoe has to be loose through the heel and midfoot. We recommend filtering by your width to find shoes that fit securely in the back while giving your toes room in the front.
Are wide toe box shoes good for women with hammertoes?
Absolutely. Hammertoes cause the toe joints to bend upward, and conventional shoes press down on those raised joints, causing pain and corns. A wide toe box with extra depth gives hammertoes the vertical and horizontal clearance they need. Shoes with a deep, rounded toe area rather than a pointed or tapered front will provide the most relief.
